BUILT BY BECKET
Architect Welton Becket is responsible for many signature structures
that contribute to the Los Angeles landscape; yet, many Angelenos have
never heard of him. This concept was developed to promote a possible
exhibition of Becket’s work at The Geffen Contemporary. Utilizing
twenty-three of the buildings "Built by Becket" to publicize the show
and draw attention to the multitude of his structures by flying large red
balloons above them.

  ART CENTER AUDIT
In June 2008, students began to question the priorities of the administration
at Art Center College of Design. Many arguments were raised in student
forums and internet blogs. Confused and frustrated myself, I chose to conduct
research from a neutral resource, “The Peterson’s Guide to Four Year Colleges,”
and draw my own conclusions. This following series of five posters are the
result of my investigation.

A VENTURE TO DEFINE THE ORIGINS OF PUNK
An information design project, created by embracing the learning
process. Knowing very little about Punk music, I began reading and
watching documentaries on the movement. Focussing on relationships
and influences I moved and rearranged bands as I learned more.
Erasure, white-out marks and misspellings were all left in.

  FASHION & TEXTILE MUSEUM
The nature of fashion is that it is constantly changing. Therefore, a logo for the
Fashion and Textile Museum in London shouldn’t feel characteristic of a specific
time or place. Similar to fashion, typography has a fundamental internal structure,
but its silhouette can take on many variation. The concept for FTM’s logo was to
overlay silhouettes of letter forms representing a breadth of typographic styles;
one style is not dominate, they all work together to build a single unique statement.

  SELF-PORTRAIT IN TYPE
The project began by asking several of my friends and acquaintances to
write down words they would use to describe me. I then constructed
seven large-scale black and white posters from scanning the words and
arranging them based on my reaction. The project then expanded into a
photographic exploration of process and composition.

  FROOT LOOPS
When considering a redesign for cereal packaging, I focused on a form
that would minimizing waste. The tetrahedron shape allows for large graphic
surfaces, minimal adhesive, and a playful shape.
